Umass Agreement Fall 2020

(Added July 22, 2020) As many of the flu symptoms overlap with those associated with COVID-19, we are asking all students to accept a flu shot when they become available this fall. By preventing the development of flu-related symptoms, you can avoid quarantine. UMass Dartmouth intends to sponsor intercollegiate competitions in most of its sports during the spring semester of 2021. In collaboration with local health authorities, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the CDC, the university will adhere to all current and future health and safety rules. The university intends to present itself in women`s and men`s basketball sports under the roof of Little East, since the calendars will be discussed and closed by the conference. As warranted by guidelines and protocols, the university intends to participate in all Spring Sports competitions sponsored by the Little East in baseball, softball, women`s lacrosse, and outdoor track and field for men and women. The university intends to embark this spring on the fall sports of football, men`s and women`s football, field hockey and volleyball, as the logistics of a compressed schedule continue to be discussed and formulated. With a large amount of crossovers between student-athletes, there will be no sponsorship of men`s and women`s cross-country in the spring. MASCAC announced on November 13, 2020 the cancellation of all remaining competitions scheduled for the 2020-21 winter season, which has a direct impact on men`s hockey and women`s indoor athletics.

The option of non-league events in these programs is being studied. At UMass Boston, where administrators earlier this month presented a draft plan for the fall 2020 semester, the courses are delivered remotely, with the exception of some laboratory courses in science and care courses, according to a letter from interim Chancellor Katherine Newman dated June 22. The „Protect the University and Local Communities“ section of the agreement requires students to participate in safe practices aimed at keeping the Amherst community and other local communities safe. For all rooms in the fall, the standard price of the multi-bed room is charged. Students who choose break accommodation (ONLY North B) are charged for additional break accommodation. Students should not choose a break apartment unless they have no other option for the winter holidays. Students can book fall accommodations with their consumer manager via their zoom invitation Monday through Friday from 1pm to 4pm.m. from Monday 3Rd August. Please check your UMass email for all correspondence from our office. You can contact our staff directly by e-mail if necessary. We continue to offer all services remotely in order to keep the campus community healthy and safe.
